Hypertensive Emergency is an umbrella term for a wide range of disease processes seen in the ED. They all represent as sick-as-stink patients with critical care up to your eyeballs. In this podcast we review the involved organs in hypertensive emergencies, their presentation, and our targeted treatments.
At the end of this podcast learners will be able to:
- Articulate an understanding of at-risk organ systems in severe hypertension
- Differentiate the presentations of hypertensive emergency by involved organ
- Appraise different pharmacotherapies for the treatment hypertensive emergency and their ideal clinical setting
